All ticket sales are subject to an additional $1 Facility Fee that goes towards making vital improvements to our venue. All prices include GST.

Online Ticket Sales

Member and non-member pricing is also available online. A $1.00 online processing fee is added to each ticket at checkout, covering our hard costs of offering online ticketing.

On occasion, pricing for specific presentations may be higher or lower. We generally limit online sales to 100 seats per show, and all remaining tickets are sold at the door. Tickets to upcoming presentations are available online and guarantee your seat without waiting in line. See tickets available below.

Online ticket sales close one (1) hour before screenings/performances.

Box Office Ticket Sales

Our in-person Box Office is open half an hour before the show and is CASH ONLY. There are two ATMs within a block of the theatre. All ticket prices are offered on site, and a membership card is required for a member discount.

Group Ticket Sales

We welcome Groups and have a special rate for group purchases. For groups of 15 or more, please call our office at 250.352.5833 at least 36 hours in advance.

Ticket Donation Program

Our Ticket Donation Program offers free tickets to non-profits for fundraising purposes.

We Are Happy To Help

The Civic Theatre is pleased to support local non-profit organizations, charities and cultural efforts by donating tickets or vouchers to support their fundraising and special events.

Guidelines For Ticket Donations

  • Please submit your request at least 6 weeks in advance of your event
  • Preference may be given to groups that have not received our support in the past
  • Each organization is eligible to apply for one donation per year
  • Special consideration may be given to organizations that recognize The Civic Theatre through signage and other recognition, cross-promotional opportunities, and reciprocal donations
  • Tickets or vouchers redeemed are subject to availability
  • Tickets and vouchers are non-redeemable for third party hosted shows at The Civic Theatre
  • Donations will be available for pick up at The Civic Theatre
  • Other restrictions may apply
  • Donated tickets have no cash value

How To Make Your Request

Please fill in our application form, and include the following information:

  1. The goal of your event
  2. A description of your target audience
  3. How a donations will be used (live auction, silent auction, raffle, door prize, etc.)
  4. Other relevant information

Gift Certificates for The Civic Theatre

Our gift certificates are available year-round and are a perfect option for friends, family and colleagues who love the cinema. They can be created in any denomination of $25 or more, can be used toward tickets or concession items, and never expire. Please email if you have further questions. We must collect the following information in order to process your order. Unless you wish to be added to our email list, we will never use your information for any other purposes.

We offer a maximum of three donated evenings each year to local non-profit and charitable organizations for fundraising purposes.

Subsidy Qualifications

We offer a maximum of three donated evenings each year to local non-profit and charitable organizations for fundraising purposes. To qualify, an applicant must be:

  • A Nelson and area non-profit organization or charity
  • Planning to use the event for fundraising purposes
  • Have evidence of a marketing plan or clear assurance that the event will be well attended
  • Able to commit to holding this event on a Monday or Wednesday evening, or during the daytime

Making your request:

  • Please make your request through our ticket donation form, telling us about the purpose of your fundraiser, your target audience for screen advertising, and any other relevant information
  • It is recommended that you make your request at least 6 weeks in advance of your desired booking date

Process Details:

  • Requests are considered on an ongoing basis
  • Applications must be for single dates only
  • Venue donations will only be given for Monday or Wednesday evenings, or daytime events
  • Preference may be given to groups that have not received our support in the past
  • Dates may be requested, but venue opportunities are subject to availability
  • The Civic Theatre retains the right to not award all three available venue donations in a given year

Using Your Venue Subsidy:

This award is for a basic rental package only. If the plan for your event grows beyond this basic package, additional charges will apply. This may include technical consulting, equipment rental, administrative time, and other expenses.

Please note the following:

  • Recipients are entirely responsible for their own marketing
  • Recipients agree to adhere to The Civic Theatre’s program recognition terms
  • The Civic Theatre’s wordmark must be used in the recipients marketing and adhere to our brand and logo use guidelines
  • Subsidy program sponsors or benefactors may be added or changed at any time
  • All tickets will be sold through The Civic Theatre’s website and handled by our box office
    • Pricing is controlled by the recipient
    • A processing fee will be charged for all online ticket purchases to cover paypal and credit card fees
  • Concession sales will be managed and retained by The Civic Theatre
  • Our 10% commission on third-party sales in our venue is waived for venue subsidy recipients
    • Lobby sales opportunities are subject to The Civic Theatre’s approval
  • Recipients agree to allow The Civic Theatre to publicize our contribution to your organization and fundraising effort
  • Venue donations are non-transferable
  • Other conditions may apply
