Have a Say in What We Screen: Crowdsourcing comes to The Civic Theatre

In October, The Civic Theatre is planning to present two must-see educational and inspiring documentaries. But we need your help to bring these films to Nelson: 75 pre-sold tickets must be purchased for each film to ensure they are screened!

Through an intimate and artistic lens, Milk brings a universal perspective on the politics, commercialization and controversies surrounding birth and infant feeding over the canvas of stunningly beautiful visuals and poignant voices from around the globe. Inspiring, informative, provocative and sensitive, Milk celebrates bringing a new life into this world with a strong call to action and reflection. Directed by Noemi Weis

In her new film The Mask You Live In, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the filmmaker behind Miss Representation, turns her focus to boys, and how a very narrow definition of what it means to be a man is having a host of unintended consequences, ranging from substance abuse to violence to rape.

Please purchase tickets for either or both of these events and send the link to anyone in your network of acquaintances that might find this of interest.
